ROCKFORD — The Rockford Public Library has debuted its virtual lunch and learn series, held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursdays.


This series begins with "From Bootleggers to Retirees, a discussion of the Mafia in Rockford."


Upcoming presentation topics include "Ellis Island," hosted by Jean Lythgoe, on May 7; "Prohibition," hosted by Kathi Kresol, on May 14; "Genealogy from home without a library card," hosted by Lythgoe, on May 21 and 28; and "Ghastly Crimes and Ghostly Encounters," hosted by Kathi Kresol, on June 4.
