ROCKFORD — The Music Academy of Rockford, 226 S. Second St., will offer a summer camp, Camp Counterpoint, for string and piano students from June 15-19.


Camp Counterpoint is open to suzuki and traditional violin, viola, cello, guitar and piano students. Students will work with various faculty members on both instrument specific and


general music skills. Classes include theory, individual lessons, piano ensemble and chamber groups and orchestra. The goal of the camp is to raise students’ skill while they have fun.


The year the camp’s theme will be An Olympic Week of Summer Music. A performance by all campers will be held at 12:30 p.m. June 19 and will conclude the week.


Both half-day and full-day camp is available. Half-day tuition is $145 and tuition for full-day camp is $265. Extended care is offered before and after camp each day. Camp registration deadline is May 14. Fees increase for late registration.
