ROCKFORD — The Rockford Symphony Orchestra has issued an update stating that all RSO and Rockford Youth Symphony Orchestra rehearsals, performances and public events through May 16 are canceled or postponed.


Canceled performances include “Soundbites,” scheduled for April 24 at Mau-Nah-Tee-See Country Club; “Prokofiev’s Fifth,” scheduled for April 25 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center; and the RSYO Spring Orchestra Concert, scheduled for April 26 at the Hononegah Performing Arts Center.


The “Beauty and the Beast” film with orchestra performance has been postponed to May 16.


Tickets already purchased will be honored for a rescheduled concert. People also can donate their tickets and receive a tax receipt or exchange their tickets for a voucher to a future performance, including the 2020-21 season.


The RSO administrative staff is working remotely. The offices and box office will be closed in the Riverfront Museum Park building. The staff is checking voicemails and responding to email correspondence.
