OREGON — The University of Illinois Extension will offer a webinar on the best practices for disabilities in workforce development at noon April 23.

Sherry Sparks, workforce development unit manager of the Illinois Department of Rehabilitation Services, will lead the webinar. She will provide the best practices for inclusion of persons with disabilities in workforce programming.

The DRS is the state’s lead agency serving persons with disabilities. The staff works one-on-one with individuals and their families to help them to reach their employment, education and independent living goals.

Workforce development programs are now more equally accessible to disabled and non-disabled persons as society has continues to increase accessibility in various aspects. The Americans with Disability Act tools and practices are used by organizations, institutions and government agencies to maintain and improve accessibility.

Those who need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this program are asked to contact Nancy Ouedraogo at esarey@illinois.edu at least 48 hours in advance.
