FREEPORT – The Illinois State Police has recognized National Public Safety Telecommunicators’ Week, which takes place April 12-18.
The week celebrates telecommunicators, operators and various behind-the-scenes-workers who dispatch troopers and officers from other state agencies in emergency situations.
The ISP employs more than 114 Telecommunicators at its six call centers across the state. They provided communications assistance for more than 527,719 calls for service in 2019.
