ROCKFORD — SwedishAmerican shared its stockpile of masks, gloves and other protective equipment on Wednesday with about 15 long-term care and rehab facilities in the city.

The hospital has received numerous donations over the past 10 days that allowed it to share gloves, hair nets, masks, Lysol wipes and other items, which were handed out in prepackaged boxes at the East State Street hospital.

The hospital said it knows other facilities are running dangerously low on supplies and may not have the capacity to organize and accept donations themselves.

SwedishAmerican is still accepting donations of medical supplies from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at the main entrance of the hospital, 1401 E. State St.
