FREEPORT — A 16-year-old Freeport boy who was being monitored by a GPS device related to a firearm charge earlier this year was charged Wednesday with another weapons violation.

Freeport police officers executed a warrant in the 900 block of South State Street just before 3 p.m. and found two stolen pistols, one taken in Freeport, the other in Whiteside County.

The boy was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a firearm and is housed in the Kane County Juvenile Detention Center, said Lt. Andrew Schroeder. He said the boy had been under a court-ordered monitoring system for a weapons violation.
