ROCKFORD — A snow plow truck caught fire in the 2800 block of English Lane just before 9 p.m. Sunday near 2800 English Lane.

Rockford Fire Department responded, and there were no injuries.

The truck was a 1997 Ford F150. The vehicle was contracted through the city to clear roadways.

A city spokeswoman said the city had between 130-140 contracted trucks and heavy equipment clearing residential streets. As of mid-morning Monday, the city still had about two dozen city plows out on main roads, and contractors were still plowing residential streets.
