FREEPORT — A 57-year-old Freeport woman is accused of stealing a purse.
Dorothy Davis-Turner allegedly stole the purse after a woman momentarily left it on a chair in the 400 block of West Exchange Street on Wednesday. The purse was worth $250 and had $400 in cash inside of it, Freeport Police Deputy Chief Matt Summers said.
Davis-Turner is charged with theft over $500 and theft with a prior conviction. Her bond is set at $6,000.
